The steering group of the CHANGE project met from 9th - 11th of January 2017 with the Italian partner FIOM-CGIL in Rome. This was an internal working meeting. The exchange focused on the progress achieved so far, in particular with regard to the implementation of the national "pilot projects" as well as the preparation for the second workshop in Toulouse in February 2017.
In a very lively discussion with the Secretary General of FIOM-CGIL, Mauricio Landini, and Fabrizio Potetti, the responsible representative for the aerospace industry, the members of the Steering Group informed themselves about trade union progress in Italy. After many setbacks in the last few years, trade unions get stronger. Now they are able once again to exert greater influence on social and economic policy. A particular success is the conclusion of a national collective agreement for industrial workers, which was signed by all great trade unions. In view of organizational matters the Italian trade unions see themselves on a good way.
